Upcoming events at the House of the Open Door Community
The Community hosts many events throughout the year, using some of the facilities in our Retreat Centre; we list those coming up in a calendar below.
Our Tithe Barn is sometimes reserved for guest groups but is at other times is an ideal event space for meetings or conferences hosted by the community such as our Friday night Fellowship meetings, or those visiting for discipleship. Smaller meetings such as craft retreats take place in our Craft Studio.
If you are visiting for one of the events it may be possible for us to cater for you in our Dining Room; during your visit you are welcome to spend any spare time in our Retreat Centre Gardens.

The next Men’s day at HOD will be on Saturday, September the 12th
I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
Psalm 121
After introductions and a time of worship, we’ll make our way to the nearby hills.
Provision will be made for the physically challenged, who we will get to our destination in one piece.
One of the party will be the Rt. Rev. Pat Kilgarriff. “Fr. Pat” was a Parish Priest in Malvern for some years and he knows the local hills well. Before coming here he was the Rector of the Venerable English College in Rome. He’ll give some input and pointers for reflection before we set out and when we gather together again before heading back.
If the weather is unsuitable for a walk in the hills we’ll have our meeting at HOD.
We will assemble at HOD in the Tithe Barn at 9am for drinks. Please bring a packed lunch.
Please contact us to let us know if you are coming, or if you have any queries.
